Historical analogies may be inaccurate, but Americans may need to look at their own civil war and compare it to what is happening in Ukraine now. Today the US supports a murderous criminal adventure that has little to do with unifying the country.

This assessment came from Professor Stephen Cohen, prominent US scholar of Russian studies and author, who advised George H.W. Bush in the late 1980s. He spoke to RT about the mistakes of the consecutive American administrations in their Russia policies, the worst crisis in decades that they led to and the deterioration of political discourse in America that prevents things from changing in Washington.

Cohen challenged the narrative of the Ukrainian events dominating in the US, calling the military crackdown by the government an “unwise, reckless, murderous, inhuman campaign that Kiev is conduction against what are admittedly rebel provinces.”

“Lincoln never called the Confederacy terrorists,” the scholar pointed out. “He always [called them], no matter how bad the civil war was, fellow citizens he wanted to come back to the union. Why is Kiev calling its own citizens terrorists? They are rebels. They are protesters. They have a political agenda. Why isn’t Kiev sending a delegation there to negotiate with them?

“Their demands are not unreasonable. They want to elect their own governors – we elect our own governors. They want a say on where their taxes go – ‘no taxation without representation.’ We know what that is,” Cohen said. “There are extremists among them, but there are also people who simply want to live in a Ukraine that is for everybody. And instead the Kiev army, with the full support of the United States, is conducting this assault.”

‘Kremlin an essential ally Washington pushes away’

What the US doing with Ukraine now is alienating arguably the best potential ally it has now, Cohen said.

“I am convinced that the most essential partner for the American national security in all of these areas from Iran to Syria, Afghanistan and beyond is the Kremlin, currently occupied by Putin. And the way the United States has treated Putin – I would call it a betrayal of American national interest.” (more…)

Russia’s Vladamir Putin continues to play our pu$$y-in-chief like a cheap violin.

The entire world knows full well what a coward we have occupying our white house. Never in the history of this great country have we seen such blatant numb-scullery.

They also know that Obama’s “red lines” are really yellow lines (streaks) running down Obama’s back.

Jimmy Carter obviously came very close and carried this moniker up to the point Obammy took control of the helm, but Obammy takes the cake by a long shot, my fellow dudes and dudettes.

Thus far, Obama has not exhibited one iota of leadership ability. All he seems to know how to do is steal from the rich, give to the poor, feed us lies covered up by more lies, and do everything inside (and outside) his power to tear down America.

In short, our most dangerous enemy in the world is in charge and his wrecking ball is knocking down everything in its path.

Putin Defies Obama in Syria as Arms Fuel Assad Resurgence

President Vladimir Putin, condemned by NATO for annexing Crimea, is now defying the U.S. in Syria by sending more and deadlier arms to help Bashar al-Assad score a string of advances against insurgents, military experts say.

SYRIA-CONFLICT

Government forces in the Krak des Chevaliers area near the Syria-Lebanon border as forces loyal to Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad seized the Crusader fortress on March 20, 2014.

Assad’s army, seeking to end a three-year civil war that’s killed 150,000 people and displaced 9 million, started using longer-range Russian Smerch and Uragan rockets for the first time in February, according to Jane’s Defense Weekly and Stratfor, a U.S. geopolitical research company. Syria has also intensified the use of MiG-29 fighter jets with ground-attack capabilities, Stratfor said, citing analyses of video footage.

“Russia is now doing everything to ensure that Assad wins convincingly,” Alexei Malashenko, a Middle East analyst at the Moscow Carnegie Center, said by phone. “If Russia can show it’s capable of carrying out its own foreign policy, regardless of America’s wishes, it will be a major achievement for Putin.”

Don’t you think it’s time we started pressing the powers that be to have Turkey removed from NATO?

What is to be gained by allowing them access to NATO security information or benefiting from a mutual defense treaty as they help Iran, Syria, Hamas and Hezbollah try to fuck us up the ass?

Let’s write our representatives to kick these bums out.

America’s most recent response to Russia’s attack last month on the sovereign nation of Georgia was made by Vice President Dick Cheney during his visit to Tbilisi, Georgia. Cheney said:

Russia’s actions have cast grave doubt on Russia’s intentions and on its reliability as an international partner, not just in Georgia but across this region and indeed throughout the international system.

Some say Turkey has set an example for the entire region to follow, others think this is just another ploy by Turkey to get what it wants from the West, vis-a-vis NATO et al. Only time will tell.

The July 30, 2008 decision by Turkey’s Constitutional Court to fine – but not outlaw – the ruling Justice and Development Party is a sign that after decades of political turmoil, real democracy is finally taking root in the country. The battle in Turkey between secularism and Islamism is one that has been fiercely fought since the foundation of the republic in 1923. In the past, that ideological confrontation was played out in the streets with gun battles and coups, but this time around the dispute was resolved in a court of law. That both the ruling Islamist party and the secularist opposition turned this time to an independent judiciary to resolve their dispute speaks well of Turkey’s maturation as a democratic society. Liars’ Round-Up
On Security, Facts Matter

by Ralph Peters | New York Post

THE facts about your security are being torn to shreds by activist liars. And they think that you’re too stupid to know the difference.

Let’s lay out the worst current examples of media make-believe and election-year truth-trashing:

Whopper No. 1: America is less safe today than it was on Sept. 10, 2001. Oh, really? Where’s the evidence? The Clinton years saw New York City attacked and Americans slaughtered by terrorists around the globe. Nothing was done to protect us. (more…)
