Friday nights are usually family time around the LoB homestead.
Now that LoB Jr. is off at a small mid-western college writing letters to Penthouse it tends to just be Mrs. LoB and me catching up on the week’s DVR’d sitcoms.
When the TV starts up it’s programmed to open with FOX News and there was Megyn Kelly getting the scoop from the Windy City.
All I can say is, where is Mayor Richard J. Daley when you need him?
In the interest of full disclosure I have to admit that the Donald is not my first choice for president. I think Kasich for all his peccadilloes would be a better Commander-in- Chief, but i digress.
Mrs. LoB on the other hand wants Megyn Kelly for president.
Mrs. LoB is so imbued with Ms. Kelly that she has consented to let Megyn be my free pass. So if you are reading this Megyn, I’ll bring the whipped cream, you bring the cherries, but I digress.
Anyway I would like to thank the flotsam and jetsam of the City of the Big Shoulders for showing their true colors.
By denying Trump his right to express himself they have helped to further solidify the growing core of his support.
The over arching image I’m left with of this creme de le scum is the pervasive plethora of Mexican flags and keffiyehs being sported. The other take away was that these SHPOS (that stands for sub human pieces of shit for those of you unfamiliar) either spoke with heavy foreign accents or were unable to articulate a thought, or both.
The most intelligent expression they had was the presence of a multitude of Bernie Sanders signs.
I’m waiting for him to disavow the Bolshevik thuggish tactics used in his name. Should I hold my breath?
Last night in Sweet Home gives us all more reasons to vote for Trump.
The family of police-shooting victim Akai Gurley had a message on Friday for the Rev. Al Sharpton: Keep your “circus” away from his funeral!
The blowhard opportunist muscled his way into the arrangements — and even put out press releases promising to deliver the eulogy — without ever consulting the family or offering to foot the bill.
But Gurley’s relatives told Sharpton to stay away rather than turn the somber ceremonies into a spectacle.
“It’s been a nightmare,” Gurley’s aunt, Hertencia Petersen, told The Post. “He just wants to take credit for this when he’s never even contacted my sister [Gurley’s mother].
“Who made you the spokesperson of our family? We just want to bury our nephew with dignity and respect.”
Petersen was stunned that Sharpton and his National Action Network billed him as the eulogist for a Friday funeral, when they were planning on a Saturday service and wanted a speaker who actually knew Gurley.
“How can you do a eulogy for someone you don’t even know? It’s heartbreaking,” she said.
By late Friday, Sharpton accepted a rare defeat and backed off, though he blamed it on “confusion and division” within the Gurley family.
He said he would not attend Saturday’s 11 a.m. service at Brown Memorial Baptist Church in Brooklyn — and even backed off the Friday wake.
Gurley, 28, was shot and killed on Nov. 20 at Brooklyn’s Louis Pink Houses by rookie cop Peter Liang, who fired blindly into the darkness of an unlit stairwell.
Liang, who had been on a patrol at the East New York housing project, told officers it was an accident.
The Brooklyn district attorney plans to present evidence to a grand jury to determine whether Liang will face criminal charges, officials said Friday.
Gurley’s mom, Sylvia Palmer, spoke about her son’s death publicly for the first time Friday and said she is putting her faith in the courts.
“There is nothing in this world that can heal my pain and my heartache,” Palmer said. “And I pray to God that I get justice for my son.”
Gurley had made plans to drive to Florida to visit Palmer for Thanksgiving. Instead, Palmer flew to New York to bury her son.
She got no help from Sharpton, even as he grabbed headlines with his bluster in the days following the shooting.
Petersen, her sister, turned to her own health-care union, SEIU 1199, to pay for Palmer’s travel arrangements.
“National Action Network would have held the funeral without them,” said Malkia King, president of the union’s benefits fund, who helped raise the $6,000 needed to pay for flights and a hotel room for Palmer and other relatives.
Petersen fumed that Sharpton is just a publicity hound who never mourned her dead nephew.
“There is no piece of the pie for Mr. Sharpton here,” she warned, adding that whenever the rev. sticks his nose in tragedies, “It’s not pretty — there’s confusion.”
She said that Saturday service would have been “chaos” if Sharpton showed up.
“It’s about control and power,” she said. “We’re not here for that.”
No, nothing biblical here, so you holy rollers can move along.
Just two light bulbs that went off in my head today.
#1. There is nothing civil about today’s supposed civil rights “leaders”.
#2. If Obama’s habit of saying one thing and in actuality doing the complete opposite sounds familiar you must be a student of history. Two other world leaders used this tactic as part of their modus operandi. I’m talking about none other than Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin.
Q: If the cop who shot and killed Michael Brown in Ferguson were black, would race baiters like Al Sharpton and Eric Holder, and the black mobs thronging the streets be equally enraged?
A: Hell no!
This debacle isn’t about a racist cop shooting an unarmed man because he was black. It’s about an innocent white cop and the system being bullied by the black community.
Why did I write ‘innocent white cop’? Because of one of the most sacred principles in the American criminal justice system, holding that a defendant is innocent until proven guilty. In other words, the prosecution must prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, each essential element of the crime charged; not the black community or any other entity or individual.
It appears this bunch is okay with judging that Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson is guilty without due process, yet they expect due process for themselves. This is called a double standard, folks, which neither blacks nor anyone else is entitled.
So far, he hasn’t even been charged with a crime, yet the black community has already tried him in absentia and convicted him of murder. No doubt the penalty they have in mind for him is death. This is exactly what they accuse Wilson of doing to Brown. This behavior is in the same category as their violent and racist knockout game being perpetrated against non blacks all over America.
Let’s get real here, folks. They don’t truly believe Wilson is guilty. Again, they simply want to strike out at a white cop and the system that attempts to protect and serve them, which they also consider white.
The black community, my friends, is where the ugly face of actual racism resides.
