Philippines Tells Muslims to Fuck-Off
MANILA, Philippines (AP) — The Philippine government on Thursday gave Muslim rebels 24 hours to vacate several southern villages and return about 6,500 displaced Christians to their homes, or face attack at a sensitive time for the country’s peace process. (more…)

‘Hamas in Damascus Ordered a Mega Attack’
Yahiya Moussa, a member of the Hamas parliament in Gaza, said the organization did not change its policy regarding suicide attacks, Israel Radio reported Sunday evening.
He said reports aired in Israeli media earlier Sunday were meant to “set the ground for renewed Israeli violence against the Palestinians.”
Moussa added, however, that Hamas was not in complete control over its activists and that “pressure against activists in the [West] Bank could lead bring about an explosion.”
A Palestinian source in Ramallah contradicted Moussa, and confirmed that the leadership in Damascus had indeed instructed West Bank Hamas members to carry out a large-scale attack. (more…)

From The Jewish Week:
Riding The Peace Wave
The self-proclaimed Aloha Doc is hoping to “wipe out” intolerance with surf gear.
Dorian “Doc” Paskowitz, an 86-year-old retired doctor from Hawaii, donated about a dozen surfboards on Tuesday to Gaza’s small surfing community, promoting peace in the region through a shared love of surf.
“God will surf with the devil, if the waves are good,” Paskowitz said. “When a surfer sees another surfer with a board, he can’t help but say something that brings them together.”
Carrying a board under each arm as he made his way towards the border, Paskowitz ducked under the barriers at the Erez Crossing, emerging in Gaza to hand out surfboards to eager Palestinians on the other side, along with members of his Surfing For Peace movement.
The effort was sparked two weeks ago when Paskowitz spotted a photo of “two surfers in Gaza with a stinking board,” unable to catch a wave side by side. He then began appealing to Israeli companies and donors, raising money to equip Palestinian surfers.
Known among surfing circles as the Jewish surfing guru, Paskowitz is a father of nine who served in the Navy during World War II and has recently written a book, “Surfing and Health.” He mounted a surfboard 75 years ago and has been a dedicated rider ever since. His family is the subject of a documentary, “Surfwise,” set to show at the Woodstock Film Festival in October. src
While I admire the thought and truly wish it could make a difference, I know this is like a drop of water into the ocean. It’s also a silly pipe dream.
Muslims overall are too committed to their islamic cult and it’s violent teachings, and too brainwashed with anti-Semitism to allow themselves to surrender to peace or kind gestures such as this one by Aloha Doc, especially since he’s a Jew.
You cannot change the stripes on the tiger, especially those of the bloodthirsty palestinian variety. They’re just too intolerant to ever be tolerant.
Doc is lucky these barbaric and primitive mohammedanists didn’t cut his head off.

From LGF:
Here’s University of Chicago professor John Mearsheimer, co-author of “The Israel Lobby,” interviewed by Andrew Marcus at the YearlyKos convention, explaining that Iran is not at war with the United States and that we need to work with them—because, after all, they’re only killing a tiny percentage of US soldiers in Iraq.
Oh, and according to Mearsheimer, we really don’t need to worry even if Iran does get nuclear weapons. They’d never use them. And it’s Israel’s fault Iran wants nukes anyway.
Mearsheimer is absolutely full of shit, and his hatred for the USA and Bush are super apparent. I wouldn’t let this guy teach my dogs. What a pompous liberal ass-wipe!

Double Standard Watch: Carter’s selective sensitivity
by Alan Dershowitz
When Jimmy Carter used the word ‘Apartheid’ in the title of his book Palestine Peace Not Apartheid, he knew it would deeply offend many Israelis, Jews and other supporters of Israel’s efforts to make peace with its Arab neighbors. Yet he deliberately chose that deeply offensive word precisely in order to provoke. As Jeffrey Goldberg of The Washington Post said, it was a case of “bait and switch,” since in the text of the book, the word Apartheid appears only three times and Carter goes out of his way to explain that what he believe Israel is doing “is unlike in South Africa – not racism….”
Carter was cautioned by friends not to use the inaccurate and provocative word Apartheid, but he insisted on putting it in his title, knowing full well how deeply offensive it would be to so many. (more…)

The Forgotten Front
by Peter Brookes
WHEN the U.S. counterterrorism operations against the Abu Sayyaf Group, the Philippines-based al Qaeda affiliate, kicked off in late 2001, the Bush administration dubbed it the “Second Front” in the War on Terror. Today, it’s more like the “Forgotten Front.”
But the lack of notoriety isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The joint U.S.-Philippine counterterror campaign in the southern Philippines is going pretty darn well after 5½ years. Indeed, some experts tout the “Operation Enduring Freedom-Philippines” campaign as the most successful counterterrorism/insurgency effort of the post-9/11 period. (more…)

AUSTRALIA and the United States have warned of an impending major terrorist attack in the southern Philippines, where Al Qaeda-linked militants recently beheaded seven Christian hostages.
In an advisory to its citizens circulated late yesterday, the US embassy said the attack could take place anywhere on Mindanao, the country’s main southern island. (more…)
