A train was passing through the Great plains with a flat bed car loaded holding a 50,000 ton solid piece of coal. While stopped at a siding, a local farmer approached the engineer to ask what the coal was for. The engineer answered,

“It’s for Obama’s face to go on Mt. Rushmore. They couldn’t find a piece if shit this big.”

President Obama gave a very important address yesterday on the Middle East, with some stuff thrown in. Afterward, the stuff thrown in was getting all the attention.

At the end of a very long and powerful speech on the meaning of the Arab Spring, Obama said he supported the concept of a final peace between Israel and the Palestinians based on the composition of Israel’s borders before the Six Day War in 1967 with “mutually agreed swaps.”

Friends of Israel responded instantly with outrage and fear — but the policy is nothing new for this administration. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said almost exactly the same thing two years ago and repeated it a few months ago.

Stepping on his own words: President Obama spoke powerfully about an Arab path to democracy, but much of the world is likely to fixate on his throw-away lines about Israel and the Palestinians. (more…)
