A former US Marine and fellow veteran is joining the TMQ2 blog team. We won’t reveal his avatar or moniker at this point, but rest assured he shares our irreverent brew of wit, humor and satire with a big splash of Jarhead tossed in for good measure.
The following was part of his response to a question I asked about our chronic problem with Islamofascism.

A sign on the door leading out of India Company’s Combat Operations Center says “Have a Plan to Kill Everyone You Meet.” For a fraction of second I thought it might be some kind of joke. But I was with the Marine Corps in Fallujah, and it wasn’t a joke.
I asked Captain Stewart Glenn if he could explain and perhaps elaborate a bit on what, exactly, that sign is about. “It’s pretty straightforward,” he said rather bluntly. “It means exactly what it says.”

This means many of our posts are being emailed around within the USMC IT system. We are honored by their presence. Even Marines from the UK have come here to laugh and learn from Shlomo Muslim, Ph.D. It’s like living in New York City, everyone comes away a little Jewish.

from New York has lost his inspiring three-year battle to overcome horrific burns suffered in a roadside bomb attack, the military announced Thursday.
Marine Sgt. Merlin German, 22, had been burned over 97% of his body and underwent 150 surgical procedures to repair the damage from the 2005 attack. (more…)

FALLUJAH – Jersey rules. The Marines of 1st Platoon, Fox Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines aren’t living large, but they’re making a huge difference. Bunking in a police precinct headquarters in Fallujah, they’re at the forward edge of our current successes in Iraq.
It’s summertime, but the living ain’t easy. The work’s tough, the heat’s wicked, the “facilities” conjure the old line about what bears do in the woods, and only goodie boxes from home liven up a diet of field rations (great for two or three days, nasty after two or three months).
You’d expect complaints. I didn’t hear one. And talking to three Jersey boys, I was surprised to hear just how positive they felt about the mission. }} more…
There are now officially two “Ex” Marines in the history of the United States Marine Corp: Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Murtha. Both have dishonored the Corp and their country.
To any red-blooded American serviceman, this would be the ultimate insult. But guys like Murtha just don’t give a shit. He couldn’t care less about esprit de corp.
All Smurfa cares about is undermining warriors who are the real deal since he never was. He’s a louse and hates himself for it. He’ll go to his grave a dishonorable ex Marine. There is nothing he can do at this point to change this. Bloggers like me will write his history, not lefty-liberal traitors and history’s underhanded revisionists. Nope, not this time.
All others members of the Corp are either Marines or former Marines. All have honored the Corp and their country.

Let’s now revisit Murtha’s original Haditha harangue while being interviewed by his butt-buddy and fellow fifth-columnist Chris Matthews of MSNBC.

May 18th 2006 John Murtha Tells Chris Matthews on Hardball that US Troops have “killed in cold blood.” This before the troops have even been charged with a crime. At this point they are only being held on witness accounts of this. Witnesses which are currently believed to be enemy combatants.
The Marine Corps investigator has now dropped all charges against 3 of the 8 accused Marines in the case, and only one Marine still stands accused of crimes at the scene. The others are charged with various after-the-fact issues that arose from investigations of Haditha, not the events themselves. Murtha’s aim, of course, in accusing the Marines of murder “in cold blood” was to pin the blame on Bush. But in the process of blaming Bush, he slandered those Marines.
One of those Marines, Col. Jeffrey Chessani, plans to sue Murtha once he’s exonerated.
Let’s hope he wins big and cleans out Murtha’s bank accounts. You know, the ones holding all his dirty money.
And let’s also hope this is the beginning of the end for this low-life thug who has been hiding in and leaching from our political system for far too long. If this were the 1800s, Murtha would have already been tarred, feathered, and hung from the nearest tree. Stringing people up did in fact teach them a lesson.
Lucky for this ass-munch we’re more civilized than he is.
OUTPOST DELTA, KARMAH, IRAQ — MARINE Cpl. William Thomas kicked off his patrol briefing promptly at 5 a.m. The other members of 2nd Squad, 3rd Platoon, Lima Company, listened as if their lives depended on the corporal’s instructions.
Because their lives would depend on what their squad leader had to say.
The briefing covered everything from specific duties to details of the ground we’d cover. The mission: Extend the security perimeter around the outpost, do a “census check” of Iraqi ID cards in a marketplace and gather intelligence.

In exonerating Lance Cpl. Justin Sharratt of all charges against him arising out of the incident in Haditha in November 2005 including murder, Lt. Gen. James Mattis praised the young Marine who is among the Marines who were accused of cold-blooded murder by Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa. }} more…
Charges against Lance Cpl. Justin Sharratt and Capt. Randy Stone were dismissed based on a review of the facts in the case, Lt. Gen. James Mattis said in a statement.
Sharratt and Stone were among eight U.S. Marines originally charged in the Haditha case, which stemmed from the death of 24 men, women and children in the western Iraqi town. Sharratt was charged with unpremeditated murder and Stone with dereliction of duty.
In his recommendation, Lt. Col. Paul Ware said murder charges brought against Sharratt were based on unreliable witness accounts, poor forensic evidence and questionable legal theories.
“The government version is unsupported by independent evidence,” Ware wrote in an 18-page report. “To believe the government version of facts is to disregard clear and convincing evidence to the contrary.”
The Marine Corp went down a notch the day they let Murtha’s fat ass in. The very Jarheads Murtha’s been trying to hang have earned back the respect he lost for the Corp. That’s a goddamn fact!
The government’s case against a Marine accused of fatally shooting Iraqi civilians in the town of Haditha lacks sufficient evidence to go to a court-martial and should be dropped, a hearing officer determined.
