Another Moron Speaks

NYC Mayor Michael Boomberg has announced a plan to combat school absenteeism.
Anyone with more than ten absences will get a phone call from a celebrity or sports figure such as Jose Reyes or Magic Johnson encouraging them to go to school.
How stupid is this idea?
I’m a chronic truant, my motivation is to hit the magic number so I get a phone call from a famous person.
How about a celebrity phone call for students who maintain stellar attendance records instead, Mayor Mental Midget?

Statement on the Proposed “Cordoba House” Mosque near Ground Zero
Newt Gingrich | July 21, 2010
There should be no mosque near Ground Zero in New York so long as there are no churches or synagogues in Saudi Arabia. The time for double standards that allow Islamists to behave aggressively toward us while they demand our weakness and submission is over.
The proposed “Cordoba House” overlooking the World Trade Center site – where a group of jihadists killed over 3000 Americans and destroyed one of our most famous landmarks – is a test of the timidity, passivity and historic ignorance of American elites. For example, most of them don’t understand that “Cordoba House” is a deliberately insulting term. It refers to Cordoba, Spain — the capital of Muslim conquerors who symbolized their victory over the Christian Spaniards by transforming a church there into the world’s third-largest mosque complex. Anti-Mosque Ads To Run On NYC Buses After All

A few days after the American Freedom Defense Initiative and Stop Islamization of America filed a lawsuit against New York City’s Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) for refusing to run an ad campaign protesting the construction of an Islamic center in lower Manhattan, the agency has agreed to put up the posters. }} more »

Hamas endorses Obama.
Bin Laden is Muslim. So is Ahmadinejad. As were Arafat and Hussein. These people didn’t fight for democracy, human rights, and the American way. They supported terrorist organizations: al Qaeda, Hamas and Hezbollah.
Rev. Wright hates America. Iran chants “Death to America.”
These guys want Obama to be president.
Obama got 20 years of guidance from Rev. Wright, his guiding light.
And Obama still says he’s a healer. It reminds me of David Dinkins when he ran for Mayor of New York. He too said he was a healer.
Liberals came out in droves. Black and whites alike put him in office. (more…)

History and Memory
We Jews were commanded to remember. That’s why we are the most historically minded people with the longest and most tenacious memories.
Writing things down was just part of the process. During each generation we read and reread and study with others and learn and think about what history tells us. Each time we reread the old lines they mean more to us because we’re older, wiser and more experienced. Whether one believes in God or not, we remember what we wrote down and how later generations interpreted all the memories they retained. I’ll outline a few of the basics.

Of Blessed Memory: Rabbi Jacob and Deborah Rubenstein

All of us at TMQ2 would like to extend our heartfelt sympathies to our friends and readers in New Rochelle, New York, on the tragic and untimely passing of Rabbi Jacob and Deborah Rubenstein.

Rachel’s Law: NY’s ‘Libel-Tourism’ Fix

A CRITICAL First Amendment bill, the “Libel Terrorism Reform Act” is pending in both houses of the state Legislature. It was written in direct response to the Court of Appeals’ decision in the case of Ehrenfeld v. bin Mahfouz.
Rachel Ehrenfeld is an Israeli-American terrorism scholar and internationally recognized counterterrorism expert. In her book “Funding Evil: How Terrorism Is Financed and How to Stop It,” she identified Khalid bin Mahfouz, banker to the Saudi royal family and one of the world’s richest men, as a leading terrorism financier.
Ehrenfeld cites government documents as evidence for these particulars: }} more…

A Terrorist for Tea
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to address a forum at Columbia University on Monday; school President Lee Bollinger promises to ask tough questions. – News item
BOLLINGER: Mr. President, you say the Holocaust didn’t happen. That’s very hurtful. Don’t you know that hurts people’s feelings?
Ahmadinejad: The truth hurts, Bollinger. I hosted a conference at which it was conclusively demonstrated that 6 million Jews actually escaped Nazi Germany by journeying over the Alps into Switzerland, singing “Climb Ev’ry Mountain.” }} more…

WASHINGTON – The CIA’s top leaders failed to use their available powers, never developed a comprehensive plan to stop al-Qaida and missed crucial opportunities to thwart two hijackers in the run-up to Sept. 11, the agency’s own watchdog concluded in a bruising report released Tuesday. }} more…

From LGF:
Stanislav Shmulevich, as you may know, was charged last week with two felony counts for dunking a Koran in a toilet at New York’s Pace University when he was a student there. This morning, offers to help him fight this outrage have been pouring in. There are several attorneys involved, and as soon as there’s a way for interested people to contact the defense team, I’ll post it here.
Thanks to everyone who’s emailed and offered assistance; this story has really touched a nerve among Americans who value free expression and refuse to be bullied by CAIR and the MSA and their Wahhabist masters. I’m not going to be the coordinator (schedule’s already insane!) but I’ll let you know who is. (more…)
Goldman Sachs Targeted with Death Threats

Hand-written letters say hundreds will die; bank believes threat isn’t credible.
NEW YORK — The FBI is investigating letters sent to newspapers nationwide that say “Goldman Sachs. Hundreds will die. We are inside. You cannot stop us,” the bureau said Friday, but government and company officials are downplaying the threat.
U.S. Postal Inspection Service said the letters were sent to 20 small to mid-size newspapers, including publications in Indiana, Texas, Idaho, Tennessee and New Jersey.
“We take these things very seriously,” said FBI spokesman Bill Carter.
But he added, “We have no specific and credible information about a credible threat to Goldman Sachs other than these letters.” (more…)

Is Darwin Kosher?
Last month, 600 people turned out for a Yeshiva University fund-raiser at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. The museum, which stands as a monument to science, houses one of the world’s most extensive collections of dinosaur fossils. The dinner itself was held in the dramatic Milstein Hall of Ocean Life, which features a massive blue whale that hangs suspended in midair; intricate dioramas modeled on the flora and fauna of the planet’s oceans line the walls. Everything about the affair suggested that Yeshiva, the intellectual epicenter of Modern Orthodox Jewish life in America, is very much at ease in the world of secular science.
This impression is confirmed by Carl Feit, who is an ordained rabbi and Talmudic scholar as well as chairman of the science division at Yeshiva College. Prof. Feit says that in nearly a quarter-century of teaching introductory biology, he has always taught evolution–supported by traditional Jewish source material–and that “there has never been a blip on the radar here.” His assessment echoes the official line of the Modern Orthodox rabbinical association, which states that evolution is entirely consistent with Judaism. }} more…
From A Britisher’s View – JFK Plot is Work of a Unified Terror Mindset

It comes as no surprise that the three suspects arrested in connection with the plot to blow up JFK Airport are tied to a Caribbean group, whose evil sheep are largely black converts to Sunni Islam. More and more members of the globe’s disenchanted black communities appear to have found bliss and confirmation in the world’s fastest-growing religion, fattening its rolls to more than one billion, and giving more fodder and tinder to its radical sector. Radical Muslim Paramilitary Compound Flourishes in Upper New York State
Situated within a dense forest at the foothills of the Catskill Mountains on the outskirts of Hancock, New York, Islamberg is not an ideal place for a summer vacation unless, of course, you are an exponent of the Jihad or a fan of Osama bin Laden.
The 70 acre complex is surrounded with “No trespassing” signs; the rocky terrain is infested with rattlesnakes; and the woods are home to black bears, coyotes, wolves, and a few bobcats.
The entrance to the community is at the bottom of a very steep hill that is difficult to navigate even on a bright sunny day in May. The road, dubbed Muslim Lane, is unpaved and marred by deep crevices that have been created by torrential downpours. On a wintry day, few, save those with all terrain vehicles, could venture forth from the remote encampment.
A sentry post has been established at the base of the hill.
The sentry, at the time of this visit, is an African American dressed in Islamic garb – - a skull cap, a prayer shawl, and a loose fitting shalwat kameez. He instructs us to turn around and leave. “Our community is not open to visitors,” he says. }} more…
