Last nite I watched a C-SPAN rerun of the 2000 presidential debate between George W. Bush and Al Gore.
Shortly after Bush mentioned Gore’s claim of inventing the internet, Gore took credit for developing some program that helped old folks out with their utility bills.
Suddenly, Obama’s “You didn’t build that!” speech popped into my head.
I imagined Obama spewing forth one of his “You didn’t build that” diatribes while Al Gore frantically jumps up from the audience, waves his arms, and shouts, “I did!”
