‘Islam protects all basic human rights’
JEDDAH: Justice P.K. Shamsuddin, former judge at Kerala High Court, has emphasized that all basic human rights are protected in Islam. “The rules and regulations in Islam are rich enough to make a universal human rights declaration,” he said.
Shamsuddin was speaking at the concluding ceremony of Indian Islahi Center’s silver jubilee here recently. He quoted extensively from the Qur’an and Sunnah to support his argument that all universally declared human rights are preserved in Islam.
