Advocacy is the Mother’s Milk of TMQ2
May 11, 2008 by Shlomo Muslim, Ph.D.
To advocate means to speak or write in favor of; support or urge by argument.
TMQ2 blogging is all about advocacy. We are advocates and proud of it.
Proud advocates who can’t be cowed by anyone or anything; we can’t be coerced, bribed, threatened, fired or sued. This is where we practice our freedom to advocate via our freedom of speech.
Hence, we practice the freedom to blog right here. All of us. For that, everyday we thank our lucky stars and stripes.
In addition to the stars and stripes, we thank our moms for making it all possible. And our dads for fighting and winning the wars that keep us safe and free to live the dreams our forefathers dreamt almost 12 score years ago.
And I thank my children’s grandmother who three score years ago fought and won another war. Not an American war, this time it was an Israeli war. TMQ2 chooses Mothers Day (which falls close to Israeli Independence Day) to also honor friends and cousins who fought in subsequent wars in Israel too.
Advocating for America is a beautiful thing. We advocate for America. Israel advocates for America. Everyone who lives and breathes free should join our advocacy, by joining, supporting and urging by argument based on these truths that we hold self-evident, that Jews and Americans are not driven by Satan or jihad, but rather, we are driven by a long list of laws that together make our community of mothers and fathers and children the best community on this good Earth.
Let us pray, or praise, or preach. Let us laugh and play and teach. Let us do for ourselves what no one else will do for us. Let us advocate and make a difference.
May the mothers of TMQ2 bloggers fill with pride that their sons and daughters articulate what others read, positively affecting discoursive concepts always being argued around the world.
