Having AIDS is not conclusive proof of being gay.
If he did contract HIV from gay sex it would be viewed as shameful in the Arab/Islamic world.
Not that they have a monopoly on that attitude.
It’s ironic that cultures with a focus on machismo, where manliness is a determination of worth and status, that homosexuality is more prevalent.

It’s time the world admitted Arafat was gay. Not that there’s anything wrong with buggering little boys. Muslims have been in the business since Mohammed.
French law forbids physicians from discussing the condition of their patients (in case of grave prognosis) with anybody but the close relatives and all communications concerning Arafat’s health had to be authorized by his wife.
Palestinian officials expressed regret that the news about Yasser Arafat was “filtered” by his wife.
So the Abbas gang could not have received any medical report from the French! Even Arafat’s doctor who looked after him for 25 years was not given any information!

It’s taken a long time, but the Iran-funded Hamas disinformation machine is finally paying people to lie some more about Arafat who died in a French hospital. It appears they don’t like the world knowing the truth about Arafat’s demise (from AIDS).
One of the main false “facts” they’re using is the claim that Arafat’s medical report couldn’t possible have gone to the Palestinian Authority (who Hamas hates). But of course the P.A. did receive a copy.
Hamas says Abbas’ people couldn’t have received a copy because French law forbids giving a copy of the records to them.
That’s true, but Abbas’ people originally received their copy from Arafat’s nephew, who obviously is a member of the family.
In compliance with France’s privacy laws, French officials told Europe-1 radio that “The medical file of Yasser Arafat will be transmitted, conforming to the law and to rules, to members of the immediate family who ask for it — and I mean family.” They said, “The family of Yasser Arafat has the right to do as it wishes.” “This rule protects all citizens — the most famous and the most anonymous. It is very important to respect it,” he said.
In addition to this, was widely reported by the Associated Press that Palesinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia told AP that he formally asked France to publish Arafat’s medical records. “We sent an official letter, asking for all the details and all the reports,” Qureia told AP reporters from his office outside Jerusalem. Speaking of the dead Arafat, Qureia said, “He is one of the regions main leaders and therefore I think we should know what happened.”
Herve Ladsous, the spokesman for the French Foreign Ministry said France would “examine fully” what the Palestinian leadership had requested regarding details on Arafat’s death.
So Arafat’s wife, Suha, got a copy and decided not to speak publicly about the cause of her estranged husband’s death.
For a while the Palestinians were trying to blame Israel, saying poisoning was the cause of death. Arafat’s Jordanian physician, Dr. Ashraf al-Kurdi, said poisoning was a possible cause for Arafat’s death.
But that idea was nixed when Nasser al-Kidwa, the Palestinian envoy to the United Nations and Arafat’s nephew, said that there is no evidence that Israel poisoned Arafat. Nasser al-Kidwa, was a top Palestinian official.
When Arafat’s nephew secretly released the report, information circulated among those in the know, itand that’s when the speculation came to an end. That’s when it was learned by many what some top officials said, that reports of Arafat being gay and dying of AIDS were “much more than speculation.”
